Breaking Ground, Building Together

Shell, together with project partners Hongkong Land, Knight Frank, Turner & Townsend, Arcadis, BBFL, EMSP and Conexus Studio come together at the groundbreaking ceremony.

Long before the first desk is set or the first coffee is poured, a workplace begins with an idea and a patch of ground. Last week, we gathered with Shell and our project partners on that very ground — breaking soil on Shell's new Singapore office and setting the tone for the journey ahead.

Shell recently announced that its Singapore operations will relocate to a new home in the first half of 2027 — a move to bring its energy businesses ever closer to the customers, partners and ideas that shape the industry. The groundbreaking ceremony was the first physical step in realising that vision, and a moment to celebrate the team behind it.

One team, one first step. Representatives from Shell and the project partners mark the groundbreaking of Shell's new Singapore office.

Conexus Studio, as the project's design implementation and fit-out partner, put together the moment on site. Together with the landlord of Asia Square Tower 1, Hongkong Land; leasing partner Knight Frank; project managers Turner & Townsend; design consultants Arcadis and BBFL; and engineering consultant EMSP, key representatives from Shell lifted their shovels together, into one bed of soil, framed by the Shell mark — one team, one moment, one first step. It's a small gesture, but a deliberate one: the space ahead will be built through partnership.

To everyone who gathered with us — thank you. Breaking ground is only the beginning, and we're looking forward to the months ahead as this new workplace takes shape.

Here's to building something great together.
