As a global leader in capital markets technology and investment management solutions, Murex required a new APAC headquarters that reflected its forward-thinking culture and met the dynamic needs of its highly skilled consultants. The relocation to Singapore’s prestigious Marina One tower was an opportunity to create a destination office — a space designed not just for work, but for connection, innovation, and growth.

Informed by a detailed workplace study, the design process was rooted in employee feedback. The clear mandate was for a vibrant, multi-faceted environment that balanced focused work with spontaneous collaboration. The new office needed to be an exceptional home for Murexians and a welcoming hub for clients, embodying the company's commitment to its people and its position at the forefront of the FinTech industry.

A welcoming front-of-house brought to life by Team Conexus, with a touch of Murex’s signature pink.

A Hub for Culture and Community

At the heart of the Murex office is a belief that strong communities drive innovation. The design prioritises spaces that foster connection and a shared sense of identity. The front-of-house makes a lasting first impression, welcoming clients with a warm reception lounge and coffee bar overlooking Marina Bay. Adjacent to this are a state-of-the-art boardroom and a suite of flexible meeting rooms, one pair featuring an operable wall to create a large workshop area for client training and events.

For employees, a sprawling social hub acts as the office’s cultural epicentre. Designed with a relaxing café aesthetic using rattan textures, soft curves, and lush greenery, it’s where colleagues connect over meals and coffee. Unique “squircle” tables can be grouped for large departmental gatherings, while a stunning mural showcasing key Murex locations worldwide reinforces the connection to the global community. This space is more than a pantry; it’s a vibrant hub for building relationships and celebrating shared success.

An Ecosystem of Choice and Purpose

The modern workplace must be as agile as its people, and the Murex office is a direct response to this. Guided by survey data, the design moves beyond uniform layouts to offer an ecosystem of purpose-built spaces. The floor plan embraces the building's organic curves, creating a natural flow between different zones.

A variety of settings supports diverse workstyles. Small, quiet rooms cater to one-on-one discussions and focused tasks, while open collaboration zones with integrated acoustic panels allow teams to gather for impromptu problem-solving without disrupting others. Every employee benefits from an ergonomic, tech-enabled workstation featuring height-adjustable desks and dual monitors, ensuring comfort and productivity. This array of choices empowers Murexians to select the best environment for their task at hand.

Designing for Growth and Connection

Continuous learning is central to the Murex culture. Nestled within the social hub is a spacious, fully equipped training room, creating a seamless transition from learning sessions to informal networking. This integration ensures that knowledge sharing remains a dynamic and visible part of daily office life, accessible to employees, partners, and clients.

The design journey was a deeply collaborative one, involving change agents from the Murex team throughout the process. This participation built a strong sense of ownership and ensured the final space was a true reflection of their needs. From the sweeping views of Gardens by the Bay to the subtle multicultural design cues, the new office is a forward-looking workplace that not only supports the business of today but is ready to adapt for the opportunities of tomorrow.

“Conexus Studio didn’t just deliver a design; they changed how we think about space. They challenged our assumptions, and their cohesive design and build team guided us with practical, well-reasoned advice at every stage. They understood the technology and functionality required for our consultants but also captured the spirit of our multicultural community. Conexus also helped kick-start our change management journey, welcoming our change agents on site during construction and involving them at every step. That early engagement built ownership and made adoption seamless.”
